David has worked for the Foundation for 13 years, with the last four as Chief Executive. Prior to this, David served as a soldier for 24 years, serving in Africa, Middle East, Far East, Caribbean and various parts of Europe. David has helped to pioneer Rank’s place-based programmes, leading the new strategy and exploring new opportunities for the Foundation. He has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, enjoys walking and wilderness trekking, and maintains a strong interest with several African charities. He is a member of the UK Foundation’s Forum, and a member of the European Venture Philanthropy Association.
Deputy Chief Executive
Caroline has worked at the Foundation since 2006, formerly as the Director of Community Care Projects and in her current role over the last two years. Prior to joining the Foundation, Caroline worked in both the charitable and foundation sectors interests in care, disability, family support and regeneration. Caroline holds an M.A. and is a Practitioner in Executive Coaching. Through her role as a Clore Social Fellow (2012) Caroline participated in secondments to the Foundation Center in San Francisco and Oikocredit in the U.K, researching the key tenets of governance in philanthropy.
Director of Education
Tim has been at The Rank Foundation since 2007, overseeing the School Leadership Award, Community Action Placements and the Rank Fellowship. Tim was previously in teaching for thirty years, working in the UK, New Zealand and California, and was Headmaster of the Royal Grammar School, Guildford from 1992 to 2006.
Director of Enterprise
Kai is part of the executive team and has a remit of proactive engagement with projects and communities. Kai’s focus on Enterprise extends to grants, partnerships, RankNet and bursaries. Although relatively new to the team, Kai has a long association with The Rank Foundation and the network. Kai’s previous roles have been in the youth and community sector and she has also established and led a social enterprise. Kai is a WCMT fellow, a previous tutor with the YMCA George Williams College and currently a trustee with LYST in Liverpool.
Natalie mainly assists with the day-to-day running of The Rank Foundation, focusing on the Foundation’s Leadership Award, Community Action Placements and grant administration/enquiries. She joined the Foundation in 2015, having completed an English Literature (BA) at The University of Portsmouth in 2014 and working with disadvantaged children and youth on the USA’s East Coast. She lives in South East London, and enjoys singing, cooking and a good cup of tea.
Head of Administration
Lynn joined the Foundation in 2009 and is responsible for monitoring and advising on employment law, charitable law and Government legislation which affect the activities of the Foundation. She is also responsible for preparing the annual diary of meetings and attending and taking minutes of all Board and Committee meetings, working with the Chairman, Committee Chairmen, CEO and Director of Finance. Prior to joining the Foundation, Lynn worked in a variety of organisations in the commercial sector as Company Secretary and HR Manager.
Partnership and Events Manager
Helen has been with the Foundation since 2004 and is responsible for the coordination of Rank events including the annual networking conference. Helen is the first point of contact for two Rank Flagship Programmes: the Time to Shine Internship Programme and the GAP Apprenticeship Programme. Before joining the Foundation she worked in local government managing a finance team in distributing grants.
Grants Administration Manager (Maternity Cover)
Kerry manages the operation of the Foundation’s grant-making systems, coordinates the “Pebbles” funding programme, and assists with the Rank Fellowship, the Foundation’s alumni organisation.
