Northern Hull Community Rainbow Gardens

To encourage all to care for their environment by provision of a Community Garden.

Maintaining community garden within North Hull Housing Estate, Hull HU6 area. Offering a safe place for children and families participating in various arts/crafts, gardening. Sharing skills, encouraging others to grow their own.



I believe having Rank Funding has given us more credibility and therefore secured extra funding. All objectives have been met!
We have achieved various awards Hull in Bloom (Best Community Group) Yorkshire in Bloom Outstanding, Green Flag Award, High Sheriff Award, Achieved expected numbers at workshops.

  • Working more outside garden. At various sites within Northern Hull and schools.
  • Funding received from Community First and Cohesion Grant toalling £1000 and Neil Hudgell £750.00


  • Increase no. of volunteers opportunities.
  • More families encouraged to grow their own, (healthy lifestyles)
  • Building self esteem by learning new skills.
  • Creating better links with Ethnic Minority groups.
  • Maintaining peaceful safe environment at the garden and other sites within HU6 area.
