Rank Fellowship

The Rank Fellowship Programme was launched in November 2003 at a Dinner to mark 25 years of the School Leadership Award.

Over the past thirty years, 1,000 teenage boys and girls have benefited from anonymous financial assistance from the Rank Foundation’s School Leadership Award. In order to qualify for the Award, pupils must be at a participating independent or state school, be in need of financial support to complete school or university and be judged by the Head to possess outstanding leadership potential.

The Scheme’s Administrator had contacted all those who were given Rank Foundation School Leadership Awards and who have remained in touch with their schools; they were invited to become Fellows and join in the Dinner.

In order to develop the potential of this Fellowship a group of Leadership Scholars came together to form a Steering Group. This Group considered the comments of those who responded and the pledges made at the Dinner.

The Rank Fellowship is open to past and present beneficiaries of the Rank Foundation’s Leadership Award. It promotes networking and mutual support among Fellows and encourages them to invest time and effort in voluntary activities, thereby contributing to a better society. The Rank Fellowship is already geared up to provide practical opportunities for Fellows to lend their skills and experience to specific not-for-profit or charitable organisations, including those supported by the Rank Foundation.
